Tile used for this exceptional art is manufactured by a very wise man south of the border. The tile is all handmade using an ancient Mayan technique.

All pieces are hand cut from clay that is endemic to the Baja region.

The pieces are then dried in the sun until all moisture is removed. They are fired in a kiln and then hand painted with colors inspired by Mayan culture.

The tile is soft which enables Chet to sculpt the tile into almost any shape. His distinctive art is a combination of intricate sculpted pieces along with small cut mosaic pieces.

Sculpting the shapes are a welcome challenge that has grown into a passion over the years.

Using stone or granite, Chet is also a master at turning an everyday fireplace into a work of art. Back splashes, floor medallions and wall murals are also available for commission work.
